The Heart of The Operation

GSW has maintained a collective studio since 1991. Though displaced 7 times since, their studio has been an ongoing hub of creativity. As theater artists who make visual art (puppeteers) the studio is the center of everything GSW does. The space houses many projects, and brings theater to tens of thousands of people. GSW recently formed Building Stories LLC with their intergenerational creative family as a DIY response to the crisis of affordable creative spaces in NYC. Anchored by GSW, LLC members pool resources and pay rent for a space where they all do their work, and support each other artistically.
